Yes. Belair has civil liability insurance of the 'combined single limit' type. This policy offers you better coverage than the legally required minimum conditions. We also offer you quality in this matter!

The hot air balloon is one of the safest means of transport. The flights at Belair are also operated by professional pilots who have all the necessary permits and prior meteorological knowledge. Our balloons are also checked annually by the Ministry of Air and Roads and also by the manufacturer. Our pilots are assisted by a well-trained ground crew who ensure a safe return journey after the flight

Depending on where the balloon flight takes place, it will be determined according to applicable aviation legislation how high we will fly. In Belgium this is a maximum of 1.5 km high, on average we fly between 500 and 700 m.

A balloon arrangement lasts on average 3 to 4 hours. Belair guarantees that you will be in the air for at least 1 hour. We pay a lot of attention to the service we offer our customers. The distance the balloon travels or a highway near the landing site can also play a role.

It has been scientifically proven that it is impossible to be afraid of heights if there is no connection (e.g. rope, ladder, facade, etc.) between you and the ground. Fear of heights is a primal instinct that warns you of dangerous heights. Your subconscious 'measures' the distance between your eyes and the ground via a reference (rope, ladder, facade). Remove this contact and your 'measurement system' no longer works, even if you consciously think about fear of heights! Do you suffer from fear of heights in an airplane?

A hot air balloon is made of wicker and leather (basket), aluminum or titanium (gas cylinders) and nylon (hot air balloon).

A hot air balloon only flies in the morning and evening. Due to the thermals during the day, up and down air movements, it is not safe for a hot air balloon to fly during the day. However, this is possible in winter, when there are no thermals.

For an evening flight, we will call you between 2 p.m. and 3 p.m. For a morning flight, we will call you the evening before. Then we have the latest weather forecasts. In the past, we can rarely, if ever, tell you anything definitive.
